Petra

I teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
The characteristic of this dynamic form of Hatha Yoga is the linking of deep breathing and fluent, flowing movements.

How Yoga works

Yoga is not about performance, Yoga is about expanding mindfulness. As a result, Yoga has a direct and physical impact. The safe approach through exact alignment in doing the postures and the focus on deep breathing helps promote concentration and mindfulness. Consequently, it brings about the rediscovery of what is vital and essential.

The challenging asanas allow us to play with our limits, to expand them or accept them as they are or seem to be. After practicing yoga, the body feels moved and stretched and a feeling of deep and profound relaxation and contentment arises. Powerful but gentle, dynamic and elegant, energizing and touching.

How I Teach

My yoga classes are challenging, but not overwhelming. The focus is to meet challenges in life and on the yoga mat with ease and humor. I believe that Yoga is an active and holistic approach to life: an invitation to open ourselves outward from an inner focus and inspire as many people as possible to achieve an active and positive attitude toward life.

In a yoga class I like to create moments that help the student to find his/her full potential and practice and live from the heart. The classes are distinguished by fine-tuned alignment, intensity, and humor, moving past the limits of the yoga mat. I teach powerful Vinyasa Flow Yoga and also deeply resonating Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga for problems with your back or spine, and Meditation.

My Path

I am a longtime yoga practitioner and teacher (certified by Yoga Alliance, with 800+ hours advanced training) and am one of three co-founders of yo-yoga. I opened my own studio YogaWave in 2010. Since 2019 I have been teaching Yoga in Milan, Italy.

Growing up with ballet, gymnastics and other sports, I found my way through Martial Arts (Kung Fu) and Buddhism (Dzogchen) to Yoga.

My Background

I did teacher trainings with Patricia Thielemann (Vinyasa Flow Yoga), Ana Forrest (Forrest Yoga) and David Swenson (Ashtanga Yoga) and have practiced with renowned international teachers such as Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, Shiva Rea, Bryan Kest, Mark Whitwell, Genny Kapuler, Gurmukh, Sharon Gannon and David Life, Manouso Manos, Dr. Patrick Broome, Dr. Ronald Steiner and many others.

With my background in management and pedagogics, I have supported many non-profit organizations in executive positions. I am a teacher and an instructor in ongoing education programs, a trainer, and also a tutor.
